Off. Meccanica Torneria Gastone Berni S.R.L.
Officina Meccanica Torneria Gastone Berni was founded in 1969.
Since then it has grown continuously, from the first lathe with which the activity began to an important size in terms of the number of machines, employees, and production capacity.
Today the company is a consolidated business both nationally and internationally, with growing investment in machines, people, and new entrepreneurial ideas.
The production procedure is based on drawings provided by the customer and permits processing of rods with a
hexagonal or cylindrical cross section.
The materials processed include mild steel, brass, cast iron, and aluminium. The production process can be either automatic or numerically controlled and includes cold bending, heat treatments, assembly of parts produced on site and various galvanizing treatments supported by companies qualified through our quality system.
The company is committed to obtaining the utmost quality in its products and service. It also has UNI EN ISO 9000 certification.
CHALLENGE
Officina Meccanica Torneria GASTONE BERNI needed to manage the entire production department, control production, monitor efficiencies, output, waste, and costs, and understand the management of material requirements and movement in the warehouses.
BENEFIT
Before the installation of our integrated system to control the production process, data was collected manually, with all the resulting issues in terms of errors, inaccuracies, carelessness, and integrated management of the data. Real-time data collection has allowed for a change in the entire production process, with the monitoring not only of all phases, but also of the costs and output of all resources.
SOLUTION
The company decided to invest in both production control and quality control, choosing motis1 for production planning, motis2 production management and control, and sicop for statistical process control (SPC) and management of the quality of raw materials.
Motis2 was also enriched with production analysis and material requirements (MRP), industrial cost analysis, and management of client orders and suppliers.
Finally, the installation software included ts-picking for managing warehouse location and shipments (picking and packing), and Mago.Net for administrative, accounting, and commercial management.
